History:

The health and life newspaper (HLN) has a predesessor as the health newspaper established in November 1961. Its name was changed to the health and life newspaper in October 1995 under ministry of health. HLN is forum for people health protection and care.

Editions: widely issued in the whole country including:

- Week newspaper: 16 pages, frame 29*42 issued on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday
- Newspaper in the end of month: 34 pages, frame 19*27 issued in the end of month
- Hamlet health newspaper: 8 pages, frame 29*42 issued in the end of the month
- Weekend newspaper: 40 pages, frame 19*27 issued in the weekend
- Two editions on line.

Contents:

Contered contents are the domestic and international political, socio-economic problems and health sector, human health and public life related problems to help the people having the ways of the health protection and care according to the requirements of the primary health care; to serve the focal works of the health sector and targets of the national health programs; to introduce the latest domestic and international achievements; to communicate the policies and orientations in the health activities of Viet Nam communist party, government and ministry of health; to introduce the health activities in all levels, the models of health acitivity, good person and good works. Currently to fight against nagative problems, social evil related the health sector; to encourage all sectors, publicity participating in the cause of people health protection and care; to be a forum of social issues being considered such as medical ethics, the policies and priority for people who have devoted one's life to the country, ethnic minorities in the remote and deep areas, the health policies for the poor people and the socialization of the heath work.

Organizational structure:

- Administration division: to assist the editor in chief in activities of edition board.
- Board of secretory: assuring the issues with a nice appearance, legal contents and suitable criteria.
- Medicale division: communicating, disseminating the medical knowledge, socializaton of the health activities, introduction of the domestic and international achievements.
- Pharmacy division: content related pharmacy, medical equipment, health insurance.
- The politic and socioeconomic division: the content related the political and socio-economic problems.
- Reader division: connecting reader to edition board
- Culture and sport division: the content related culture and sport, communicating and educating the medical ethics, Vietnamese culture beauty in the socio-economic life.
- The division of the international issues: content related news, socio-political matters in the world.
- The local health division: contents relate the hamlet health.
- The communication-issue: being responsible for communicating-issueing-advertising.
- Representative in the south of Viet Nam: Editing and publishing the issues in the weekend.
- Representative in the middle and central highland of Viet Nam: is bridge of collaborators and readers in this region with the edition board.

International cooperation:

HLN cooperates with the international organizations such as: WHO, FNUAP, UNICEF as well as many international organizations in the health sector, press and non-governmental organizations.
