Anemia

Characterized by reduced hemoglobin levels, the anemia include pernicious anemia, folic acid deficiency anemia, aplastic or hypoplastic anemia, sideroblastic anemia, iron deficiency anemia, and sickle cell anemia. They may result from one or more of these pathophysiologic processes: diminished hemoglobin or red cell production, increased red cell destruction, or blood loss.
