Organizational
structure and resources:
- Vduh was
established in 1906. Its name called Phu Doan hospital in 1946
(Director: professor Ton That Tung). This name was changed to
Viet Nam - Republic and Democracy of Germany friendship
hospital in 1958. This name was changed to Viet Duc friendship
university hospital in 1991 (short called Viet Duc university
hospital). Vduh will be rebuilt completely and installed the
modern medical equipments in order to become the modern
surgery facility as an international standard.

Cardiovascular surgeries: open heart surgery, heart valve
replacement, Bentall surgery, coronary by pass surgery,
vascular connect surgery during beating heart (without
artificial pulmonary machine).

Neuro sergeries: Skull traumatic surgery, neuro-spinal
surgery, pituitary gland tumour surgery, the nerve VIII tumour
surgery (with using ultrasound knife).

Endoscopic surgery and interventive endoscope:

Stomach catheter open by endoscope, gall bladder and splean
endoscope (ERCP), worm stone disintegration by endoscope..

endoscope (urinary tract) to manage urinary tract stones.

Supporting and training the profession in kidney transplant
for other centers through the country since 1992 and has
started this technique since 1990.

Vduh is biggest facility for supplying the blood to many
hospitals in Ha Noi. 2300 liters of blood used every year. The
modern techniques such as blood components isolation and
partial blood transfusion are developed.

Applying the high techniques in diagnosing such as
immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, immidiate biopsy in
anatomy-forsensic, Echodoppler, vascular X-ray etc...

Primarily applying laser-photodynamic therapy (PDT) in
treating brain tumour, urinary bladder cancer, haemorrhoids,
anus leakage and other diseases.
International
cooperation:
Vduh cooperates with many countries such as Germany, Russia,
China, France, America, Italy, Cuba, Australia, Japan, Thai
Lan and Laos, Singapore and Cambodia etc... Many medical
doctor, professor are members of domestic and international
medical associations. Many foreign doctors, professors from
many countries such as (France, Italy, Cuba, Australia,
England, Ireland, Netherland, America, Laos and Cambodia) come
to vduh to exchange the medical science and study.
